FAKE or REAL? Teaser for the world’s first Sigma FP camera with Full Frame Foveon sensor!

This teaser image for a Sigma FP camera presentation is shared on Weibo. The image shows the X3 logo, which stands for the famous Foveon technology! I honestly don’t know if the image is FAKE or REAL. The skeptic in me knows that Sigma CEO Yamaki said the development would take a long time. So I would be very surprised to see a camera like this at the CP+ show. At best we can hope it’s real, but what we’re getting is just a prototype. Something that won’t be on the market for another 1-2 years. What do you think?

If the teaser is legit than we can definitely assume a couple of things:

  • This is a new FP camera with X3 Foveon sensor (as we can see the logo)
  • It’s L-mount
  • It’s Full Frame

Some history: EXACTLY 9 years ago Sigma announced their last Foveon camera you can still find here: https://amzn.to/3QwfXgU.

Will Sigma make NEW history next week? I am praying to the old and new gods that this teaser is REAL!

Zeiss will launch a new Full Frame lens series for mirrorless system cameras

After posting this video on SAR I received an update from a source confirming that Zeiss will be launching a new series of full frame lenses for mirrorless cameras at the Cp+ show. The source has not yet been able to confirm whether this series will also include the L-mount. But I hope to get more information on this soon.

If these lenses are manual focus like the original Otus series for Nikon F/Canon EF, it should not be too much of an effort for Zeiss to make them in a native version for the L-mount.

Surprise: Lumix S1rII will NOT use the same Leica SL3 sensor?

How2Fly reports that the Lumix S1rII will NOT use the same Leica SL3 sensor. Panasonic seems to have decided on a new sensor with a resolution below 60 MP!

This is a rumor that I have also received in the last few days, but where I was confused and unsure about. The S1rII camera with 60 megapixels, which should have been announced last year, was canceled and the market launch postponed to accommodate the new sensor.

I am working now to get the real final S1rII sensor specs…

I am still trying to get solid information about this camera. If you happen to know more about this use this contact box or contact me via [email protected]. Thanks!

There are more and more indications of a second new Lumix full-frame, which is a ‘interesting’ camera!

In the last few days, three other sources have drawn my attention to another Lumix full-frame camera that is to be announced together with or after the S1rII. This camera is said to be an extremely interesting model and the sources seem to be very enthusiastic about it.

I am still trying to get solid information about this camera. If you happen to know more about this use this contact box or contact me via [email protected]. Thanks!
